Mission and Vision
My approach to therapy is centered on creating a space that is thoughtful, respectful, and responsive to each person’s history and circumstances. The work is paced intentionally, with attention to safety, clarity, and the realities clients are navigating in their daily lives.
I offer therapy that allows people impacted by trauma to explore their experiences without pressure to perform, explain, or rush change. Through a consistent and professional therapeutic relationship, clients are supported in developing understanding, stability, and a stronger connection to themselves and others.
Princes McCarther
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience working with teens, adults, and couples whose lives have been shaped by trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, or relational strain. Many people come to therapy not because something new has happened, but because familiar reactions—emotional, relational, or behavioral—keep resurfacing despite their best efforts to manage them.
My work centers on slowing these patterns down and understanding how past experiences continue to organize present-day responses. Rather than focusing on quick fixes, therapy is used as a space to build steadier awareness, restore a sense of agency, and develop more flexible ways of relating—to yourself and to others. I also work with couples who are noticing the effects of stress or trauma on their connection, communication, or ability to repair after conflict.
An Integrative, Trauma-Focused Framework
I work from an integrative, trauma-informed framework that draws on established clinical models while remaining responsive to the individual in front of me. Care is shaped collaboratively and adjusted over time, with attention to cognitive patterns, emotional processing, relational dynamics, and how the body responds to stress.
My clinical training includes:
• Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
In couples therapy, I integrate principles from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), with a focus on attachment, emotional responsiveness, and relational repair.
How I Approach Therapy
Therapy is approached as a paced and collaborative process rather than a set protocol. I prioritize creating an environment that is steady, attuned, and grounded, where difficult material can be explored without pressure to move faster than feels sustainable.
The work often involves noticing what emerges in the moment—emotionally, cognitively, and relationally—and understanding how those responses were shaped. Over time, this can support greater flexibility, self-trust, and capacity for connection.
What to Expect at the Start
Initial sessions focus on understanding your history, current concerns, and the patterns that feel most disruptive or confusing. This assessment helps guide an approach that is responsive rather than prescriptive. Equally important is establishing a sense of collaboration and safety, which serves as the foundation for ongoing work.

My Story
My path into the mental health field began in 2014 while I was working with military children. During that time, there was a tragic accident in which a child lost their mother. I remember wanting to support that child and family in a meaningful way, while also recognizing that I did not yet have the knowledge or tools to do so. That moment stayed with me and sparked a deep curiosity about mental health, trauma, and how people cope with overwhelming experiences.
As a military spouse, I have also experienced firsthand the unique challenges that come with military life. Frequent transitions, uncertainty, and the emotional impact of service affect not only service members, but their families as well. Witnessing these struggles in my own life and in the lives of other military families further strengthened my commitment to pursuing this work.
Today, my practice is centered on trauma-focused care. I work with clients to recognize their resilience, make sense of their experiences, and move beyond the ways trauma may be holding them back. My goal is to offer a supportive and respectful space where clients can heal, grow, and build a life that feels aligned with who they are and what they want moving forward.
