FAQs
Telehealth & Eligibility
Do you offer telehealth or in-person therapy?
I provide telehealth therapy only. All sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. You must be physically located in a state where I am licensed at the time of each session. Telehealth services cannot be provided if you are located outside states where I am licensed. You will need a stable internet connection, a device with video and audio capability, and a private space where you can participate without interruption. For ethical and privacy reasons, sessions must take place in a private, secure location. Therapy cannot be conducted while driving or in public spaces.
Services & Scope of Practice
Do you provide trauma-focused therapy for PTSD?
Yes. I provide specialized trauma-focused therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These are widely recognized, evidence-based treatments commonly used in the treatment of trauma and PTSD. Trauma treatment is individualized, collaboratively paced, and provided when clinically appropriate.
What concerns are outside your scope of practice?
I do not provide court-ordered treatment, custody or parenting evaluations, fitness-for-duty evaluations, forensic assessments, disability determinations, or services related to legal proceedings. If your needs fall outside my scope of practice, I can assist with identifying appropriate referrals.
Do you provide therapy for active substance use?
I may work with clients who are exploring substance use, recovery, or related concerns within the context of therapy. When clinically appropriate, referral to specialized substance use treatment or a higher level of care may be recommended.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. As a licensed clinical social worker, I do not prescribe medication. When clinically appropriate, I may provide referral information for qualified medical providers.
Scheduling, Fees & Payment
How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be requested through the online scheduling system or by contacting me directly through the website.
Do you offer a free consultation?
I offer a brief consultation to help determine whether telehealth therapy with me is a good fit and to answer initial questions. This consultation is not therapy.
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Sessions are typically 55 minutes. Frequency is individualized and commonly ranges from weekly to biweekly.
Are sessions time-limited or open-ended?
Frequency is individualized and determined collaboratively based on clinical need.
What are your fees, and do you accept insurance?
I am in-network with select insurance plans and also offer private-pay services. Insurance coverage varies by plan, and clients are responsible for verifying benefits, copays, deductibles, and eligibility. Payment is due at the time of service.
Can I use out-of-network insurance benefits?
If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill may be provided upon request. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and I do not communicate directly with insurance companies.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and missed appointments are subject to a fee.
Communication, Safety & Ethics
Do you offer contact or messaging between sessions?
Communication between sessions is limited to administrative purposes only and is not intended for clinical or crisis support. Therapeutic support is provided during scheduled sessions, not through ongoing messaging.
How do you handle emergencies or crises?
I do not provide emergency or crisis services. Telehealth therapy is not appropriate for emergencies. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You may also contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
Do you provide letters, documentation, or coordination with other providers?
I do not provide letters, forms, evaluations, or other formal documentation. With written consent and when clinically appropriate, coordination is limited to brief communication with medication providers to support treatment. Therapy services are provided during scheduled sessions only.
